Dear Mr. Lattimore,
With reference to your telephone conversation of the 17th May with a member of this Department, I enclose, in original, a letter dated the 5th May, from Mr. J.L. Stewart enquiring about compensation for loss of personal effects during the last war, together with a copy of our acknowledgment.
As the loss was sustained while Mr. Stewart was a passenger on board S.S. Nankin bound for India from Sydney in 1942, I should be grateful if you would deal with this enquiry.
Pool:
R. A. Lattimore, Esq. R.A.
Yours sincerely,
